So You Have a Hot Date?
You have a date with a beautiful Latin man (well at least that’s my fantasy) and you want to knock him off his chair with your beauty! Just imagine your dream man collapsing on the floor because he is overwhelmed by how stunning you are. Here are some Beauty Shaman tricks to create a sexy first-date makeup to blow him away.
Soft Glossy Lips and Dramatic Eyes
One of my favorite special occasion tops is a pinky-white fitted cardigan that I found at a consignment store. Because of this, I decided to use pink as my primary color in my makeup. After applying foundation, concealer, and a little bronzer, I used my MAC Angel lipstick, a soft pinky shade perfect with my top. I used my Spice lip-liner on top of the lipstick for a softer, non-liner look. My consistent sense in making up older women is to soften every line, whether it is lip-liner, eyeliner, blush, etc. Softness is the key word! Having said that, I want to show off my eyes in this video, so I added more density next to my lashes for a more dramatic look, but with the softness I am alluding to.
Blush
Once done with lips, I brush on enough pinky blush to give me color, but I’m careful not to go too heavy because the focal point will be my eyes. It’s important to pick what feature you want to emphasis when doing makeup, dressing, or with hair. What do you want to pop out? If you have strong eyes and lips at the same time, you could look garish and overly made-up. This is also how you can wear a strong lip-color, by playing down your eyes with warm browns in order to pull off a powerful lip color.
Eyebrows Bring Balance to Your Face
Next I shift to filling in my eyebrows. The biggest change you can make to your face is to enhance your eyebrows. Often we see women in their twenty’s with heavily delineated eyebrows, and even with brows darker than their hair color for effect. In my view, this is a trend that can look nothing short of ridiculous on a mature woman’s face, no matter what your teenage daughter might tell you. In this video, I focus on clarifying my outer eyebrow line, and lightly filling in the part closest to my eyes. This gives me the facial balance I’m looking for without making my brows the centerpiece.
The Eyes Are the Windows . . .
In order to make my eyes pop, I used a waterproof pencil in my waterline, and then a gel liner on top of my lash line and lastly a brick colored eye shadow on top of the line to soften it. Adding density to the lash line is a sure fire way to make your eyes come alive without looking like your trying too hard. Because I wore a pinky white top, I placed a similar shade on the inner corner of my lids, and then a soft bronze shade in the outer crease. By blending the colors with a large blending brush, and adding highlighter to my brow bone, cheekbone, and above my brows, my eyes magically became the focal point of my face!
Final Touches
Before you walk out the door for your date, take a moment, close your eyes, and go into your heart. Remember that in your heart is all the gold in the world. It doesn’t exist outside of you, but rather inside. Hold your hearts glow and allow it to fill you up. No matter what, you are beautiful, impossible to replace, and worth it.
