Because I often shop to style for photoshoots and on-camera talent (or my teenagers), I don’t often get the opportunity to look for new styles for myself. Many of you can relate to this, as you are busy women running households, offices, business, or company’s! A friend of mine recommended that I try Trunk Club and the above video is my experience unboxing and trying on the clothing picked out for me by Carson, my appointed stylist in the programme.
Trunk Club is a personal styling service that selects and mails hand picked clothing for you. Once your box arrives, you have 5 days to decide which items to keep and which to ship back to Trunk Club. You pay no shipping or return fees; you just pay for the clothes you wish to keep. In my box, I kept two items, but I loved every item she sent me. I just have an enormous amount of clothing already!
The first thing you do when you sign up with Trunk Club is create your personal style profile by answering a few questions about your fit, style and budget. Next, you chat with a Trunk Club stylist either by phone or in their messenger app to discuss your personal style and wardrobe needs. My stylist, Carson, provided me with a listing of recommended clothes, shoes, bags, and jewelry which I then had 48 hours to approve or amend. Once you make your choices, they go into your box and are sent out to you.
After your trunk arrives, you have 5 days to try on the clothing items and decide which ones you want. There is no obligation to keep any of the items, and when you are ready to return the trunk just notify Trunk Club to schedule a free pickup using the prepaid return shipping label included with your original shipment, or you can also drop it off at your local Nordstrom. Once they receive your trunk, they charge you for the clothes you decided to keep. The only other cost is a $25 styling fee for every Trunk, but it is waived if you use your Nordstrom credit or debit card.
You can also make an appointment for a fitting at their Clubhouses in Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Washington D.C., Los Angeles or New York City if that’s convenient. Your stylist will have your preferences ready for you to try on and take home that same day.
Trunk Club is not a subscription based service, rather, it delivers trunks only when you request it. If you want to receive an automatic shipment at regular intervals, your stylist can organize this for you. For me, I chose to shop with Trunk CLub every three months, just to stay current with fashion trends and style. Carson did an amazing job for me, but if your stylist is not working out for you or if you just want a change, you can opt for a new one at any time.
Clothing and Pricing
Trunk Club offers a wonderful assortment of brands ands styles to chose from. Carson picked out brands that I probably wouldn’t have tried myself which is the great value in having someone else shop for you. Even stylists like me get stuck in a rut sometimes! They carry wardrobe staples like tees, denim, and button–ups ranging from $25-$300. Sport coats, dress shoes, and other workwear essentials start around $200.
