The Perks of Being a Makeup Artist
One of the great perks of being a professional makeup artist is that I get what I call “air-time” with some pretty incredible people. Cyndi Dale, intuitive and author, has sat in my chair at Gaia tv least five times. Lucky me. She’s one of the most positive, enthusiastic, and inspired people I know and I feel SUPER fortunate to call her friend. The first time I worked with her, she told me that I am The Beauty Shaman, a tag line I have used ever since. And, because both of us are single women, we chatter about dating and my most recent dating fail. I say this a bit tongue in cheek, but in truth I’ve bombed a lot. Being able to talk to someone as psychic as Cyndi about romance, business, and life has helped me enormously. In the above video, I conduct a makeup tutorial with Cyndi, guiding her on how to look great in front of an audience.
It’s All About Energy, But We Still Need Makeup
Cyndi has written over twenty-five books on things like energetic boundaries (see my link below), the chakras, and energy healing. She’s a reliable and trustworthy source for all things energy! Her most recent book is called, Energy Wellness for Your Pet, and she holds up the front cover of the book in this video. The day before the cover was photographed, I made her up for a show on Gaia called Open Minds with Regins Meredith. She slept with her makeup on and her hair done in order to look the same for the cover shot! I find this hilarious not to mention pretty miraculous that her styling held up that well. If it were me, my makeup would be all ove rthe place and god knows my hair would be a disaster.
How To Do Makeup For On-Camera Talent
With so many visits to Gaia, Cyndi and I have talked a lot about what works and doesn’t work for her face on camera. In this video, I teach her how to use the makeup she owns, and also gave her tips on what to purchase and how to use it. I had so much fun doing this makeup lesson with her, and I’m sure you will, too. I’d love to hear what you learned and other questions I could address in other tutorials.
