Can You Age Well Without Using Products with Questionable Ingredients?
Is the Trade-Off for Beauty to Use Toxic Chemicals on your Skin?
“I want to Age Well, But I Don’t know What Ingredients Disrupt my Hormones and Debilitate my Health!” Dr. Donese Worden Explains What Ingredients in SKin Care to Avoid
No Testing on Animals!
On the label of any product, be sure there are no parabens, TEA, sulfates, gluten, or GMO’s (Genetically Modified Ingredients). These are a few of the key ingredients to avoid in skin care! Karma is, in it’s most simple form, cause and effect. By keeping what you put on and in your body, as well as your actions toward others and thoughts about others, clean and whole, you maintain a balance that is necesary.
Product testing is complicated, so be sure to know your acronyms!
Some chemicals are needed in order to stabilize the product. Not all chemicals are bad, and an entirely organic product will not have the efficacy to be effective on your skin. The current testing of products must be tempured by your own knowledge base and also an appreciation for the technology necessary to create capable skin care products.
IS THE PRODUCT FREE OF TEA, DEA, MEA, FD & C COLOR PIGMENTS, AND FRAGRANCE?
Fragrance is one of the chief offenders. Fragrance could mean any number of ingredients, including very toxic ones. We prefer natural fragrances instead of synthetic fragrances, but fragrance without phthalates is fine. You, the consumer, will hold companies in check.
How To Read A Label
These tips are super valuable and make understanding labels much more straightforward. I encourage you to write these tips down and carry them with you so that when you are shopping, you can have a greater awareness of what you are buying. In truth, what you are looking for are the words, CLEAN, NONTOXIC, and DOESN’T TEST ON ANIMALS as a starting point. Many companies bury their ingredients deep in the bowels of their websites rather than being upfront about them. They also might have fifty organic ingredients, but if they do not use a compounding pharmacist to create an efficacious product, then all that organic material won’t help your skin. In other words, the product is organic, but it doesn’t have the ability to go beneath the epidermis layer of your skin.
We only carry and recommend products that are clean and that work. Dr. Zen Skin is created by Dr. Donese Worden whom we respect and have a great deal of confidence in. Please watch both videos on either this site or on YouTube, where she goes into the basics of the above slides.
